Actually seeing a tumble weed tumble its way across the freeway is very entertaining, amirite?

Before primary school, I thought tumbleweeds were actual plants. Like, you plant a tumble weed seed, and you get this dried up bush thing which detaches itself from the ground and rolls around in the wind. I never even asked how tumbleweeds get their water until I was 7.

Except for mostly in this day and age, it's a plastic shopping bag that looks like a tumbleweed from afar

Or if it's during a really windy night on an interstate in the middle of nowhere and said tumble weed is four feet tall and you have to run over it with your car because you don't see it until its fifteen feet in front of your car

In South Dakota where I live they'd roll onto the school playground and we'd catch them, tear them up, and play with them. You can get really horrible splinters off a tumbleweed, but then again we also played with red ants, so I don't suppose we were that smart.

I have never seen it but I imagine if it didn't hit me it would be ok.
