Tattoos are a kind of scar. It also depends on the tattoo. I have a scar on my finger from taking something out of a fire and touching a metal pole as I did it. I have a tattoo that is a tribute to dead soldiers. I have scars from old piercings that rejected. I have tattoos about me and society.

A tattoo can be a image of a mental scar, some people have incredible life stories and no actual scars on themselves.
