What about Mexico then?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ive never been to Mexico. Im not some boffin who knows everything about how people talk etc. It was only a joke anyways...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, just based on the Spanish people I've met, it would sound more like "Grah-thias" Sorry. I felt the need to share that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. It doesnt sound like Grah-thias is MORE like grassy ass, in a spanish accent. And btw is in all the spanish speaking countries.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

WRONG! My Spanish teacher said, when she went to Spain, people said "grathias".

@520417 (charlietehunicorn): In Spain, they pronounce the soft C and the Z as a TH sound. Apparently it goes back to when a Spanish King had a lisp, so he made everyone else have lisps too (but only on the Cs and Zs. Weird). That's what I learned in Spanish class, anyways. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thats wrong (as I found out of QI..). it wasnt because one of their Kings have a lisp, it was just they way the language evolved (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmm. It appears my Spanish teacher is a liar. :o I'm not surprised, 'cause she was a total bruja.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You, good sir, are wrong (: I have a Spanish Aunt and a Mexican boyfriend. I know the difference.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

LOOK. IM ONLY 15 FGS. IVE BEEN TO SPAIN ONCE. It was a stupid joke me and my dad came up with. Geez!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wait what? I wasnt disagreeing with you on this I know its a joke and such. uhm im confused.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not the "only place" so noooooooo.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Is your globe missing the whole Latin America part?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

... do i look like some type of Geography boffin? I wasnt thinking about every single little place that spoke Spainish at the given time..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You can also say "poopy tray." :D (Pupitre, meaning desk.)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@520417(Charlietehunicorn): well im mexican and I say gracias as in grasias with a S not 'th'

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Im pretty sure the "th" sound is a regional thing for spanish speakers in Europe, I could easily be wrong though :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

gracias sounds NOTHING LIKE grassy ass. it took me a a long damn time to figure out this post, after reading all of the comments

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(shekilled) ohh! Ok. So even though IM mexican, my whole family is mexican its STILL not how we say it. Did I mention I live in an all-mexican city, all-mexican school and even though everyone says gracias its still grah-thias? Ohh! But YOU'RE right just cuz of one mexican bf and a spanish aunt? Yea, totally beats me!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was joking, sorry (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So, you would know many mexican people would say it this way, but you give no examples of knowing how a Spanish person may say it differently.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well its not exactly grassy ass its more like grasy ass with a spanish accent
