+632 Mulan probably has the best moral out of all the disney movies moral and The little mermaid probably has the worse, amirite?

* disney movies (sorry about the typo)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What's the bad moral?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well basically she was a 16 year-old girl who changed who she was to be with a guy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've never thought about that movie like that. Interesting point.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, I believe that any movie that teaches young girls that they should be saved has a bad moral. But, y'no. that's me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Same, but The little mermaid probably has the worse kind of of moral

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But it seemed to me that she was always very interested in the human world, even in becoming a part of it, before she even discovered Prince Eric.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

She was, but she was completely willing to give up her voice for a guy she barely knew.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Doesn't Mulan teach that dressing up as the opposite gender can help find your soul mate? I don't know if that's a great moral...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

plus she actually had brains, what other disney princess had those/ yes belle could read, but Mulan caused an avalanche with a single rocket.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never said she didn't have brains

by Anonymous 13 years ago

idk i like jasmine and mulan about equal. they both took steps to change their own fate instead of taking what was handed them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No she does not. She teaches people to fight in what they believe is right.

Ariel was able to build a committed relationship using just her personality- I don't see a bad moral there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, in the real story of the Little Mermaid, Ariel wasn't able to build a committed relationship. In the book she couldn't make Prince Eric fall in love with her so she ended up dying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's true, but the post is about the Disney version.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really!?!?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, not just her pesonality. Like, Ursula said, at least you've got your looks. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ariel had one of the least shallow relationships of all the disney princesses. At least her prince had a name, and she spent more than three days with him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, I think it was EXACTLY 3 days. "As soon as the sun sets on the third day..."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, you're right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Someone, once said about the Little Mermaid: "I sold my soul, for a vagina and a man I don't know."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

MULAN is the best!! my favouritw disney movie cause she couldn't find her place and was messing up everything ( like me) but then she did something self-less and took the risk out of her love for her dad and ended up finding herself

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Favourite**

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think in most Disney movies the moral is "Just sit back and wait for prince charming to come along and save you" And Mulan was like the only one who actually kicked ass!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you think about it, most of the disney girls don't do shit to help themselves. Think of friggin Aurora, or Snow White..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What about Princess Tiana,Princess and the Frog? She never wanted a prince and worked hard to get something, but in the end they found out that she need him to be with her. And she got her resturant. Whats so bad about this one?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People still need some time to officially work her into their brain. She's the newest princess, so they didn't grow up with it and such. She will be included eventually, don't worry.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey, Belle never needed saving, she used her love and wit to change the Beast who captured her into her prince. And the only reason she was captured in the first place was to free her father. Those are good morals, to do anything for your family and even the meanest people can turn out to be wonderful, depending on how you treat them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hello. Belle did need saving. When she tried running away, she got attacked by wolves. She most likely wouldn't have made it if it weren't for the Beast. And yes, her love and wit changed the Beast; however, in reality, it won't always work out that way. For instance, there are some people who believe that if you love someone they'll change but not always. I'm sorry for the refute, but I just wanted to point out how you will NEVER see a Disney movie without a woman being the damsel in distress. Mulan -- lil bit--- she got saved by a male doctor. But that's not that noticeable compared to all the other princesses

I think the hunchback of notradame had a pretty good moral. I love the little mermaid, but I admit the story isn't great. Mulan is a good movie, but I'm not sure it has the BEST moral. I really love some of the non/Disney stuff, particularly Anastasia. She's strong, self reliant, clever, etc.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think Cinderella has a pretty bad moral too...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think Belle is tied moral-wise with Mulan, considering they both gave themselves up to save their sick fathers. Sure Mulan was in the army, but Belle falling in love with the beast no matter how horrid he looked kind of offsets that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I get that. I really do, but i meant that Mulan still fought even though she would of been killed if they found out she was a girl, so i personally think Mulan has the best moral. Teaching girls to fight for what they think is right no matter what. While ariel gave up her voice and her family for a guy she doesn't even know....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think the one little thing that makes Mulan's story better is that in the end the Beast still turned into a handsome prince, when I think it would have meant more if he stayed the way he was and they still lived on in love, like in Shrek.

theres nothing wrong about brushing your hair with a fork. (as long as u wash it after)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Disney is just advertising sex

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, The Little Mermaid doesn't have a bad moral. A lot of the princesses just wait for their prince to come, Ariel made it happen. Also, it wasn't like in Snow White or something, where the prince just saw her and "fell in love with her" or something. They interacted with each other before they were married.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thats a goos point, but i meant how she gave up everything just for a some guy she hasn't even talked to. The whole idea of it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I like Belle. She likes to read. She sees the good inside people, and can look past appearances. She'd do anything to save her father. I mean, she's no Mulan, but I think she's the best role model. I personally think Sleeping Beauty is the worst. All that lazy bitch does is sleep! Wake the fuck up and make a difference in the world, you whore!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha, this made me laugh :P
