Star Wars/Star Trek, one of these is gay. I leave the rest to the nerds.
by Anonymous13 years ago
as far as I'm concerned, both are. [=

He was trying to start a nerd debate
by Anonymous13 years ago
obviously...? What's your point? xD
by Anonymous13 years ago
no specific point, just saying that his comment was to make those who actually care debate over it and now those who don't
by Anonymous13 years ago
Star Trek PWNS Star Wars anyday.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Star Wars beats the total shit out of Star Trek.
by Anonymous13 years ago
(Youidiots.): please, all the got is the force and lightsabres, it has an okay storyline, but nothing compared to star treks. plus, the cgi in the newer star wars was irritating.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You can't even spell 'lightsabers' correctly, and how was it annoying? Sorry bud, Star Trek bores the hell out of me.
by Anonymous13 years ago
(Youidiots.): sorry, typing fast. The excessive use of CGI irritates me, it makes it look more fake then it should be.
by Anonymous13 years ago
@547600 (Tacomuncher): Fuck you, they're both amazing.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Harry Potter conversation anyone?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Bloody hell yes!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yippee! I just finished rereading the last book like a week ago, so I'm totally prepared for this. To start.. Why the hell did Ron and Hermione name their son Hugo?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Not too sure why. I've read on Harry Potter Wikia a few possible answers:
Their daughter's name is Rose, so they could be trying to keep the same initials R and H.
It's possible that Hugo is named after Hermione's ancestors.
Or, the Goblet of Fire earned the Hugo Award, so it could have been JK's way of thanking them.
I finished the series about 2 and a half weeks ago. I still tear up about Hedwig...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Cool. I was more just complaining about the name, but I like the thoroughness of your answer. Hedwig's untimely demise was sad, but it's Fred's death that gets me every time. I still don't understand how she managed to separate the twins. Especially after George lost his ear... it makes me sad just talking about it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
In a few days you get over it. UGH! Who put you on the planet?!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Same here. Rowling once stated that George never really got over Fred's death. But at least he's "holy" now.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Fred's death and when Harry is in the woods with the Resurrection Stone get me every single time. And it has been at least four or five times
by Anonymous13 years ago
I hated all of the deaths in the 7th book, especially Remus and Tonks'. Didn't JK Rowling say that she killed them because she let Mr. Weasley live?
by Anonymous13 years ago
No idea. She was thinking of killing Mr. Weasley? I think that would have been too much after they had lost Fred.
by Anonymous13 years ago
she said she didn't kill him cuz then she would have killed every single one of harrys father figures... so she killed Moony and Tonks instead... honestly I think i would rather have Arthur die than Remus. :( i love moony!
by Anonymous13 years ago
I read a theory that said Hermione, being a well-read woman of both magical and muggle literature might be a fan of Victor Hugo, so much so that she wanted to name her son after him. However, naming her son Victor would be really awkward after the whole Victor Krum thing, so she named him Hugo instead. Though the R-H thing and acknowledging the Hugo Award are more probable, I like this theory. Also, I realize it's been over a year since someone commented on this thread, but there is no expiration date on nerdiness.

Yesterday, my mom, sister, aunt and I had a very long conversation about the science behind Harry Potter. I love my family. :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
This isn't MLIA.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My friends talk about Mario, Pokemon, Star Wars, or how I'm trying to convince them that MW2 is broken.
by Anonymous13 years ago
hold on a second, MW2 is broken?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Sometimes nerd conversations are just stupid. Yesterday I was on the bus and there were these nerds infront of me arguing that burnt toast isn't toast. Wtf??
by Anonymous13 years ago
we do that somtimes
by Anonymous13 years ago
Once had a nerd conversation about who was the actual hero in lord of the rings... things got very heated.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's obviously Sam. Frodo couldn't of gotten there without him.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Thats what i keep on telling everyone, but thy all say it's frodo who carried the ring. But arwen was also the silent hero.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I really need to read LOTR so I can understand what you fellow nerds are saying...
by Anonymous13 years ago
At the very least watch the movies. :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
That's what everyone tells me to do. I hear that the books are REALLY challenging...
by Anonymous13 years ago
The LOTR books are really long, and in my opinion I prefer the movies (don't shun me nerds). If your looking for a good book to read, try the Hobbit. It's pretty much amazing.
by Anonymous13 years ago
The Pre-AP students had to read the Hobbit last year. They said it was stupid and boring, but they're all lazy arses so I don't care what those broomheads say!!!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Frodo was a bit of a bitch during the journey. Sam was the man in the relationship.
