I know one of them is when they have too much sugar and the other is when they have too little sugar but I don't know what which one is called.

Nope Each type can have too much or too little sugar in their blood system. Type 1 cannot produce insulin to regulate blood sugar and therefore are insulin dependent whereas type 2 can produce insulin but it becomes ineffective on the body but can usually be regulated by diet and excersise.

The only reason I know that is because my brother has Type 1 and it drives him crazy when people confuse the two :P
