figuring out 10% of a dollar amount then doubling it (if you're tipping 20%) or dividing it by 2 and adding that to the 10% (if you're leaving 15%) really isnt that hard.

I like to find what 20% is and then round down to the nearest dollar. It usually comes out to be 15%-18%

I have a little card that I keep in my wallet that tells how much to tip for each dollar amount (it rounds up).

As does mine. 15 percent for okay service, 20 if the server is kind and prompt with food/refills. I usually go to a restaurant where the servers are always fantastic, so it's usually 20 for me.
