+3,790 When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you, but because in that brief moment when the coin is in the air, you suddenly know what you are hoping for. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow this is cheesy

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How? I think that would work for many people. Because even if you're not sure, in a split second your sub concious will quickly scream what it wants.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(.): As is if anybody makes truly important decisions, by the flip of a coin.. this is just another mushy, non-sensical and uninspiring post, that appeals to little teenage girls. But then again, that's what most of the users on this site is made of.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(,): You're an idiot. It says in the post "not because it settles the question for you", meaning that they don't actually make the decision based on how the coin lands. All it's saying is that it helps you realize what you really want, which helps you make the decision if you were stuck beforehand.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So... when in doubt, throw a coin in the air? This is stupid and you know it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(,): I know it sounds stupid, but strangely it works. If you're faced with two things and you can't pick between them and you do something that you can't control and that'll pick for you (like flipping a coin, asking someone else to pick, whatever), in the moment when it's about to be decided for you, you'll realize what you really want to do. It just makes you realize something, as stupid and cheesy as it is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't understand why everyone thinks it's cheesey. It's just how our brain works.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(,): Yeah, it works. Stop being a wanker

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(,): Who pissed in your Wheaties?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Me, sorry :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(,): I think someone's trollin'.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And I bet you don't know why your comment got -10!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Your+name+(optional)): It's down to -14 now :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its -17 now!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

-31!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

- 50!!!!!OMG YOU GUYZ. this guy is just thuper unpopular isnt he?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hell is cheesy? Who knew.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In that case, I wouldn't mind going to hell

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are superbly annoying...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah it is a little cheesy, but you know it's true. It's a deep post and whoever disagrees can die in a hole for all I care. Because whoever disagrees, clearly has not had a really hard desicion to make. And if you haven't had that yet then you truly haven't lived.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If someone hasn't had to make an extremely hard decision in their life, then they haven't truly lived? Well that's certainly a bold statement directed at people you don't know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah it is bold. But that is just the way I am.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Whoever has an opinion that differs from yours deserves to die? Harsh, bro.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I really love this post.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thanks for the great comment

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is a very good post.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i think all you haters of this post are just jealous of its author because you cant think of anything that creative and touching

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's funny because I stumbledupon this quote last night. http://maniacworld.com/toss-a-coin.html He didn't even try to change the wording.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then thats probably where he got it i dont care as long as its not a repost you shouldent be complaining

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not complaining, I'm just saying you shouldn't say that his post is "creative and touching" if he didn't come up with it in the first place.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well smart ass how the hell was i supposed to know that he stumbled on it considering i said that it is creative and touching before you came on here and started hating?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You can call it hating, but I'm not the one getting all defensive about it. All I'm saying is that it's not his idea, and he didn't give credit where credit is due. Calm down, buddy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree bro.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Passive-aggressive much? Also, what kind of person is so intent on tearing people down that they google a good post? Sick

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Your+name+(optional)): He didn't google that. He stumbled upon it, at stumbleupon.com. So did I, weeks ago. He's not "intent on tearing people down" He's pointing out it isn't original.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You people are incredibly stupid. This is a quote from How I Met Your Mother.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

uhh... either way... it's a quote/ it isn't original. not that i care much 2 years later lol

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow, I never thought of that. I'll keep this in mind.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

....You are a genius. I've never thought of it that way but you're completely right

by Anonymous 13 years ago

a genius for taking credit for someone else's quote?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, I had never heard it before. Who's it from?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's been all over the internet for years.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha yeah i agree :). either that or when the coin lands on something and you find out what it chose, sometimes you are sad with the result and then that helps you realize you wanted the other choice.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You've got to be fucking kidding me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I always flip a coin when it comes to that :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this was in some movie with alexis bledel

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can feel my Grammar Nazi blood a-boilin'.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

inorite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So was mine. That's why I edited the post just now. y

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree... I've always used this as a way of deciding. Or if that doesn't work, you let it land, look at the answer, and see if you're disappointed or happy with the outcome.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wow. seriously, that's so true

by Anonymous 13 years ago

one of my favorites :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I do love this post, but the Grammar Nazi part of me cringed at the isolated dependent clause, among other things.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I though the post was nice...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hey, this is true and all, but this isnt OC (original content) ive seen this saying before.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love this :) it's deep

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There are far too many variables. It may seem deep and meaningful at first glance, but spare it more than a second's thought, and it really doesn't apply.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It depends on the situation you're in. If it's like "Hmm, should I go to Pizza Hut or Domino's tonight?" then it works because it's a simple question. But with actual important things where your first instinct might not always be right, then it doesn't apply.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's best with easy, non-important decisions. Like, " What do I want to eat?" or "Which movie should I rent?"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Might as well spread this quote throughout the internet for those who haven't heard of it yet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Good potd.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Someone needs to learn punctuation. Especially when copying a quote WORD FOR FUCKING WORD!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow... at least give credit to the real author.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this post made me smile

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This post is completely true....even if others don't think so. I love it, i really do.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ive seriously heard this saying a million times now. where did it actually originate anyways?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's one of those homosexual-sounding posts, except it's good o_o

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is from a book or movie.. I can't remember which though

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you, whoever fixed the punctuation.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't care if it's corny, I absolutely love this. Thank you for posting!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wait did you make this up?? i've seen it on like wallpapers and stuff o.o

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahaha i posted this like a year ago and it got deleted because not enough people liked it and now it's the post of the day!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is a really great post. its 15 minutes of fame may be over but it still makes me smile

by Anonymous 13 years ago

or if you're dissapointed when it lands.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Even tho there's truth to this, most of the times we found ourselves stuck in a choice, we are unable to make it NOT because we do not know what we want but because we fear, do not like or do not want to do the opposite which is nearly always the right thing to do. You may toss that coin up, and in that moment what you want will shout strong right from within, but its still nothing you couldn't know already before tossing it. You were likely simply hiding it from yourself but in full conscience of it beforehand.
