It's odd how some people can take an insult, but not a compliment, amirite?

Its probably because people are insulted far more often than they are complimented.

I can easily respond to an insult. A compliment is either: uh erm... thanks. or: uh, thanks. you too.
One is dumb and awkward and the other one is insincere . Insults are far simpler.

Yeah, a nice "Fuck you!" always does the job.

Usually, most of my "compliments" are really just someone teasing me.
Because I'm so used to it, I think that if anyone points out something about me and says they like it, I think that they're actually saying "Lol, your (blah blah blah) is fucked up. XD "

It's cuz most people aren't used to kind words... Since we live in a world where people are generally mean to the people they know... It's not like they're being mean to hurt someone's feelings... They just do it because it's the social norm =/

Whenever someone compliments me, I just say "Thanks" or "...Okay.".
But then later I wonder if they meant it or were being sarcastic, because it's happened quite a lot before...

I'm so used to insults that I've started saying thank you. I mean, obviously they took the time to notice something about me, and I don't care if they don't like what they see. But when someone compliments me... I don't know, it's just awkward. I don't like having direct attention.

i'm extremely good at taking criticism. or listening to my parents go on and on about how i did wrong. but whenever one of them says something like "i'm proud of you," i burst into tears.
