+543 I LOVE how people can make jokes about The Holocaust, Hiroshima, and etc, but Americans, when someone says something about 9/11, it's like AWW HELL NO! amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never hear jokes about those things... but okay. Plus, it's because how recently it happened. People know people who died there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A decade is recent?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

2010-2001= 9 years. Simple math is hard huh.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So are commas, question marks and rounding up, evidently.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

2010-2001 is 9. The comma wasn't needed. The statement was fine without. The last sentence was merely a statement. It was not a question.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What's a "hard huh", then?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Simply a statement. No comma was needed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Huh" is typically a question, on its it asks, "What?" Whereas at the end of a statement, "Huh," is asking, "Right?"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Stop not making sense.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It'll start making sense after you hear the "pop" of your head coming out of your ass.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

-pop-

by Anonymous 13 years ago

because arguing about grammar on something unrelated always makes you smarter....just something to think about.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@558177 (Anonymous): This happened in 2002, the Holocaust happened in 1941.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was 4 and I know it was 2001. Haha fail. My point is I'm American, I don't give a fuck, and I don't understand why people can laugh about other things but when it comes to do them it's not funny.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You were 4?? Oh wow I feel old. But yes, I know many kids your age, and the whole concept is difficult to understand. But it's because it directly affected many Americans. Being 4 at the time, naturally you'd wanna watch and hear about other things. But for older people, it was a much sadder time due to the fact that it was happening right there, right then :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And Hiroshima is an lolwin, obviously, and who doesn't laugh at the holocaust?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm guessing Jews don't laugh at the holocaust.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

LMAOOOO. Shut up. That is not my freakiing point. You guys are annoyinggggggg!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ah I apologize that I "annoyed" you. Perhaps I shall go to another post where the op is mature enough to actually have a valid point as to why they are telling people to shut up, perhaps someone who's not in high school and obviously a minor. I truly am sorry, but as you probably know, college juniors shouldn't be speding this much time with young high schoolers. You'll understand one day :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This was actually funny and a good point. But either way, byeee :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the op was completely immature in saying that it was annoying, but i understand her point in trying to laugh about things sometimes. it happened, we have our moment of silence which should be enough. i just think america needs to realize all the good things that we have, and not dwell on the bad so that we can move forward in stopping anything worse from happening again. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

2001. Not 2002.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Compared to let's say 50 years, yes 9 years is recent.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How old were you when it happened?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was 4 bitch.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oye, dipshit, I'm on your side, and that was to Kat.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@558309 (Anonymous): Shut up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dasia... Again, on your side, here... >_>;

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol wait what? I'm confused...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was 12. It feels like it was only 2 years ago

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But it wasn't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No it doesn't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's not even what this post is about!! Where did this come from!?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

^^ this was great fun to read. Thanks. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm glad I could entertain! :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really? You've never watched Comedy Central? Or seen "The Hangover"? I'd bet 100 dollars you've heard jokes about the Holocaust and Hiroshima, but you just didn't understand them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you!! :) I'm 13 and I've heard and understood them, idk where they've been for like the past 20 years...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're 13?? Quit talking shit about 9/11 and go watch Disney or something.. Damn..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

he can know what 9/11 is you fucking douchebag

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's a chick dumbass.. And she SHOULD know what 9/11 is and know not to talk shit

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well SORRY for getting her gender wrong i just kinda guessed. And she did not once "talk shit" about 9/11, she just said she understood jokes in a movie. so cool your jets

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're probbly right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can see your reasoning with the time difference between the event and the present, but for the Holocaust there are still survivors. So inherently there are people still alive who know people who died there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't support joking about any of them, but as an American I do get EXTRA pissed about those who trivialize 9/11

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah you do. If I hear jokes then you must have too. I know someone involved, your point is...?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not changing the subject, but why the hell can't you reply properly? But no, I have not heard jokes about those things. And maybe you're a little less senstive about it. I wouldn't know, I haven't lost anyonein there :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't really understand what you said.. so yeah and yeah you have heard jokes so cut the crap, and what do you mean you haven't lost anyone..?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Are you fucking serious? I haven't. But that's just a small detail, barely revelant. I met I didn't lose a loved one in the 9/11 attack.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There is one on the homepage just under this one you fucking liar.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lmaoo! Yeah you have because I was with you. And I still don't understand what you're talking about.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe it's because you're an immature 13 year old.. Just a thought

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe because you're an anonymous pussy? Get off anonymous mode. Just a thought.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're not very nice.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Silly Earthlings.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha :) I love how the best comment doesn't even have to do with the post. Thumbs up!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

BWAHAHA

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think jokes can help with the healing, but they need to be appropriate. Like in "The Hangover" when they joke about the "Holocaust Ring". I think on days like today (as well as December 7, and June 6; all days a lot of American lives were lost) we need to remember, but we can't let the sadness and grief take over. If we want to laugh, we should laugh.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Guys, it really doesn't matter how long ago it happened. My grandfather survived the Holocaust, but his parents died. It doesn't matter how long ago it happened, the hurt and sadness is still there. So just because 9/11 happened more recently doesn't make it any more or less important.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you kind of :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It kind of does matter how long ago it happened. Sure I was six when 9/11 happened but it was so traumatic I can remember the panic and constant paranoia. It was terrible. I know a bunch of people effected or know someone that was killed in that, so its personal. Especially from where I am from because we are so close. It is a very touchy and serioius subject here and something would definetly go down if someone made a joke about it. The holocaust was so far away and a long time ago so its less touchy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't understand people. Honestly, yeah, it was recent. Over 2,000 Americans died on 9/11, but those people weren't just numbers. They had lives and families and loved ones. And, personally, I don't like joking about innocent people being killed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thanks for sharing your opinion :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

As an American, I don't joke about any of the World Wars or 9/11 or any other war for that matter. And lawl @ the e-frustration of immature people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is gonna cause controversy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

let's see...6,000,000 jews dead (plus others) > 3,000 americans dead...Does that seem correct?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Huh?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People are saying 9/11 happened more recent and that is why it is more offensive, but Holocaust was literally 2000 times worse.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To me, it doesn't matter hoe long ago or recent it was.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The point is, people's mothers, fathers, and siblings died in 9/11. The holocaust was so long ago, that their immediate family members are not still grieving over the loss.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it doesnt matter the numbers. 3000 people that dies on 9/11 were loved in 6000000 ways by their loved ones. you cant compare them just by casulaties. you cant put a number on the amount of pain people felt. the families of the 3000 people felt just as much grief as the families of the 6000000 people. i hate when people try to put a number on something like this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Only the United States were affected by 9/11, while the WHOLE world was affected by the holocaust. I am pretty sure casualties play a huge role in the severity of a disaster.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the Holocaust and Hiroshima were way worst it effected WAY more people

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That is what I am trying to say.... They can joke about those but when it comes to 9/11 it's not funny.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I LOVE how everyone stereotypes or clumps Americans together, instead of saying, 'some' or 'most'.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are taking it out of context, idiot. He is saying Americans because only Americans are going to get more offended by 9/11 than anything else.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not taking anything out of context. Saying 'Americans' implies ALL Americans, whether she meant it that way or not. I don't think I'm an idiot, and I'm not sure you have enough evidence to base that on, but you're welcome to your opinion. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He said Americans because Americans are the only country that find 9/11 more offensive than anything else. Why would another country feel that way?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Another country probably wouldn't. That still doesn't mean she didn't clump us all together. Really, how hard is it to say 'some' or 'many'? I guess it doesn't really matter, but it seems like all everyone does it bash Americans on this site.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

As an American, I believe we do deserve to be stereotyped.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why would anyone deserve to be stereotyped? And why would you want to be?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Deserve? I don't know about you, but I've done nothing to deserve to be stereotyped.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Kind of agree, but then I'd be a hypocrite, because honestly I have laughed or gasped jokingly at jokes like that, including ones directed to myself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never laugh at the holocaust or 9/11.... I think it is all sick.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The joke that is

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think we should all be like you then :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Psh yah like that would ever happen.... People are just stupid

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People take 9/11 seriously because most people here, myself included, remember hearing the news and many have been directly affected. It's not right to joke about this or any of the things you mentioned, but people here weren't there, so they can't really fathom what it was like.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My grandmother was there, 2 buildings away from it, wanna say something now?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im pretty sure people still go "hell no" when you talk about the holocaust, hiroshima, etc.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no they dont

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You guys are seriously missing the point, it doesn't matter who it happened to, when it happened, where it happened, etc. Death is death, and if you like to joke about one thing, then that make EVERYTHING okay to joke about. Just because it happened to YOU, all of the sudden makes it not funny? Seriously, that's why I hate living in this fucking country. GET OVER YOURSELVES. && stop commenting, I never realized having a post on the homepage could be so annoying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Finally: a sensible American who isn't so far up their own ass they're totally blind. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you must be black

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Obviously you dumb fuck. You can't see my picture?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're 13 years old. Don't say fuck.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Shut the fuck up. Are you my fucking mother bitch? Didn't fucking think so.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I predict a future at Burger King for you.. Stop talking shit about America because we're the ones who will end up paying your welfare.. supporting you and you fatherless child. Please wait until you leave middle school before you decide to mooch off of us Americans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

First of all, get off anonymous. Bitch, I'm not in middle school., and a straight A honor roll student, Yes, I'll look for a job at Burger King :) I'm American and can say whatever I want about them. Welfare with my fatherless child, haha that's the best black joke I've ever heard. You shouldn't even talk about anyone else saying people mooch off Americans.Yeah right, who'd mooch off of ignorant, self-centered, fat asses. Go fuck yourself asshole.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Who would mooch off of ignorant, self-centered, fat asses?" Apparently.. YOU would.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's too soon. That's why. Plus, it's more of the concept, of, MOST people don't personally know anyone who died in the Holocaust, where as we know a lot of people who were hurt by 9-11.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I understand your point, but I wasn't only talking about that I said etc. meaning anything of that sort.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sure but that goes for all of that sort, do you think people were joking around to those who lost loved ones in the holocaust, nine years after it happened? no. and that goes for any type of mass murder. And, i rarely hear jokes about Hiroshima...either way, i don't know anybody who finds it funny to joke about death to families affected.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lots of people can remember 9/11. Not as many can remember the Holocaust or Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I think it makes a much bigger difference.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I didn't mean jokes like that!!! And innocentbunnys : i dont understand why it matters how long ago it was

by Anonymous 13 years ago

LMAOOO! Are you guys serious? I just looked on the homepage, 2 jokes about Hitler.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

make all the jokes you want about hitler...same goes for muslims.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it'smeversspace : what are you talking about? i saw 2 post about him! i didnt write them...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i'm saying- holocaust jokes aren't funny, but jokes on hitler can be. 9/11 jokes aren't funny, jokes on terrorist are. i didn't say you wrote them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Bc it just happened less then a decade ago..and it hit home

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it'smeverspace : no!! it's a joke about hitler that has to do with the holocaust!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ever hear the saying "too soon"?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and have i not said i dont care how long ago it was?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well you didn't in the OP so fuck off

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Personally, I think that Americans don't laugh at 9/11 because it didn't only affect those in the building. It affected their families, our Country's economy, EVERYONE'S lives, our Country's safety, our airport security, and our thought on war. Meanwhile, we could do nothing to stop the hijackers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're kidding right?Your army saw the planes before they were even close to new york and could've stopped them.Stop acting so defenseless

by Anonymous 13 years ago

1.) Have you heard about Hitler's new oven? It seats 500! 2.) What's Al Qaeda's favorite football team? The New York Jets. There. A Holocaust joke and a 9/11 joke. If you're still standing after that HORRIBLE EMOTIONAL DEVASTATION, then maybe you can laugh a bit at some shit that happened and move on with your life. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol what?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, guys? there's waayy too much arguing going on here. Just to set this straight: the Holocaust cannot be compared to 9/11. yes, they are both terrible tragedies, but seriously. 9/11 resulted in 2997 deaths. The Holocaust death toll was over 6 million people :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree about the arguing part..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...who laughs at any of these things? I've never really came across anyone who did, unless they were of course, a troll on the internet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A LOT (not all) of Americans automatically think that Americans dying is worse than any one else dying. For example, yes Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, less than 2000 people died. America bombed Hiroshima (and other parts of Japan), almost TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE DIED. A more vague example is when there is a casualty somewhere in the world. News sources will say something like ''300 (People of that place died), 12 were Americans.'' I'm not anti-American, but when people get sensitive about 9/11 because x amount of Americans died (instead of the sad fact that x amount of PEOPLE died, disregarding nationality), you have to wonder, are Americans that conceited?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We're not that conceited. If you watch any other news station it'll say the same thing. It's just mentioning how many Americans were killed cause it hits that close to home. Not because we're conceited.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Watch 102 Minutes that Changed America tonight on History channel, it's probably on right about now. I know you were only 4, but the rest of us watched that live what seems like just a week or so ago. Not saying I would laugh about the other tragedies you mentioned, but it's a bit harder to joke around with those images embedded in your mind.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am watching now... and okay but that can go the same for the other events.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They are.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Look, 9/11, the Holocaust, and Hiroshima were all equally terrible. I lost my great-grandfather in the Holocaust and my best friend lost her uncle in 9/11. It doesn't matter how long ago it happened or how many died, what matters is we never forget what happened. I don't like the jokes about any of them, but as long as they're not mean spirited, I can handle them. If you don't like it, you have a mouse, just scroll down to the next post. And this isn't coming from Fred Weasley, this is coming from my heart.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It took me forever to get down here! anyway. I like this. I chuckled. but only cause it's totally true. And I'm an American willing to admit that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know! It takes like a minutes to get to the comment box!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Dasia):I bet you're proud of yourself too huh?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Excuse me?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I smell butt hurt.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

YOU ALL NEED TO STFU AND STOP ACTING LIKE YOUR TWO YEARS OLD, LET THE PEOPLE FROM ALL THE WARS AND OTHER UNFORTUNATE EVENTS REST AND PEACE THERE'S NO NEED TO FUCKING FIGHT ABOUT IT!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ILL COMMENT ALL I WANT BITCH

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okayy..?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To your followup: its only 11:35 where I'm from. Its still 9/11 for me!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're cool.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

was that sarcasm? I didn't mean anything offensive by my comment, I'm just saying that you need to consider time zones.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah that was sarcasm.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why can't people just agree that any time that innocent or good people die, it is sad and nit a time for jokes? Even if the situation doesn't personally apply to you, don't go out of your way to hurt sombody who has lost a friend or some family. Yes on the Internet you can say what you want but there is such a thing as moral standerds

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People get pissed off when an inappropriate joke is directed at them and it is something that matters to them. Try making a Jew/holocaust joke to a Jew. 96.3% chance of a punch to the face. Plus, 9/11 is more of an open wound than the holocaust - time heals all wounds, albeit slowly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I disagree with the punch to the face thing, but I can understand your time heals wounds part.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Being German, I still disapprove of Holocaust jokes... I understand the OP, but there are just some things you shouldn't joke about. I think the OP made a great point!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never EVER made a joke about any of those things. Neither has anyone in my family, or any of my friends, and we are all American.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People say "most Americans think that their more important blah blah." That's not true. That's more of a minority, and I know there are people like that in other countries like that. Stop stereotyping.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

563643 If you don't like America, then please (by all means) go live in another country and then tell me how bad our country is

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most people don't find jokes about ANY of those subjects funny. Because the murder of many people isn't really that amusing no matter when it happened. Anyone who does needs to get some respect for the dead.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

STOP COMMENTINGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ima firin mai lazar!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago
