Although I do not directly answer the question this thought came to mind. I have always had a bit of a chuckle at the idea that people have a soul mate. It implies that we are all half a soul wandering about in search of the other half..... Although I admit I do think we are all splinters of a soul, but in the context of the question, what sort of fickle God would tear souls in half and spread them willy nilly over yon and hither expecting them to collide and become one. It may be that my delivery of the argument has been less than eloquent. Which is just the way it is.
