+299 Perfect way to say "I don't know" in a catholic school: "Because God made it that way.", amirite?

My sophomore year religion teacher always went with "Well, the Pope said it, so . . . ". Ahhh, blind obedience at it's best!

i went to catholic school for 13 years & never once heard that.

Sonny, please read over the post. Damn kids.

Nah, if I was a kid, and every time something was stupid and didn't make sense someone told me it was because that's what God wanted, I'd have grown up thinking "God is fucking stupid."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What's that? You saying I'm stupid?

When I told the teacher that I did my homework but left it at home, and he didn't believe me, I said "Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." He was sadly unamused.

I had said that several times in Catholic School.(:

"My is my penis hard?" ..."Because God made it that way."

On religion tests, whenever you were asked how to be a better Christian, how you can help others, etc. answering with "pray", "read the bible", or "go to Church" was foolproof.

And for some odd reason I always had a 95 or better in religion.(:

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The religion teachers always did wonder why no one ever seemed to be worried about their tests.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That too.(: I loved it though when there would be two questions similar to that in a row.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, it seemed as if every other question was some variation of that and they just sprinkled "tougher questions" in between them. :)

I was forced into a Catholic school and had that repeated to me constantly... I'm Atheist, that shit don't work for me XD

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So whatever happened to using that brain of yours to actually figure things out? Or did you not know that that's why God gave you it and made it that way?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There is a lot in the world that cannot be explained. The answer that would go with the unexplained would be "God made it that way". But students who don't know the answer in Catholic school would just say "God made it that way." Was that answer acceptable? No. Did we use it anyways? Yes.

Emm..and your point is?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I was answering your question.
