+541 I think the whole Snow White story was just a big misunderstanding. When the step-mother asked the mirror who the fairest maiden was; it probably just said "Snow White" because she's so pale. amirite?

i think the time period snow white was set in, pale skin was considered to be beautiful

Yeah and I'm not objecting to that. It's just when the step-mother says who's the FAIREST of them all it could be misconstrued at Fairest as in the most pale. That was just my point.

oh ok i see your ponit, but i just always thought the mirror chose her because she was pale haha

Me too, that's what this post is about.

Umm. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't the evil step mother. It was the evil queen.

Same difference. I haven't seen Snow White for a while but it's the same concept.

That's a...very good point. I'd never thought about it like that. I mean, I didn't think about Snow White too intensively before, but it hadn't occurred to me.

Fairest actually means beautiful. Not pale.

Uh, that's ONE definition. The entire point of this post was to look at it from a different point of view. Also, if you're trying to be controversial be brave enough to put your name on it.

Um...that is exactly what it means. I did a report on the bedtime stories that people tell their children (cinderella, snow white, etc.) and when the Queen asks who the fairest is she is referring to her skin color because she stayed out of the light in order to become more beautiful because in that time the more white you are the prettier you are.
