+117 If you could build a hole to china that avoided it's volcanic center, when you jumped in, would you fall in and when you reached the middle of the tunnel would you have to start climbing or would you fall into the china's sky? amirite?

I've always wondered the same thing

haha, good to know I'm not the only one who thinks about digging holes to china :)

You would fall, hit the middle, then start having to climb. Like, if you were to build a tunnel in a straight line through part of the earth, you would be going down, then start heading up, based on Earth's center of gravity.

You would probably explode in the center from the pressure of gravity pushing on you from all sides. D:

eeeexactly.

*implode

Stuck forever in the center.

You'd fall to the center, but by then your velocity and momentum should be enough to take you through to the other side with gravity working against you. By the time you step out you'll be slow enough to just lightly step onto the other side.

But if you miss that step, you'll have to go through all the way back to your starting point because your velocity would keep increasing until you pass the center ._.

You would emerge from the ground.

If you've dug your way to China, you're probably there. You can't dig to a certain point without being able to reach it...

God, your comment annoyed the shit out of me.

It's a talent. ;)
