+217 Artistic nudity is basically just porn taken with a good camera and some sentimental title like 'Daybreak' or 'Longing for Freedom,' amirite?

Could not disagree more, only because there is such a thing as context. If I take a picture of my newborn child having a bath, is that considered child pornography?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes. (Jk, but I was just thinking about this the other day. There is a line between baby pictures and child pornography, but where is it? How fine is it? Does it have an operational definition?)

I'd say anything that depicts the child in a sexual way.

But that's the thing. Some people consider nudity inherently sexual in any context except when alone.

I don't think you're going to be able to please everybody. But I know, at least in my mind and pretty sure in most other people's, that someone has a photo of their child playing in the bath and shows it to me that I'm not going to take anything sexual from it. But if someone shows me a photo of a child and they are in a clearly sexual position or engaging in sex acts then I'd be disgusted.

That didn't really have anything to do with it.... taking a photo of your kid in a bath is fine, it's like a scrapbook photo. I was talking about those staged shots that people sell, that kinda thing. child porn would be if it was like sold to people or something.

You clearly haven't seen any good artistic nude photography.

Porn is about sex. Artistic nudity is about the beauty of the human body in its natural form. There's a HUGE difference, buddy.
