I don't see how it will benefit anyone except for thieves who can break into a building when all the electricity goes out and the security alarm can't go off. No way to inform police. Nice.

I honestly can't believe you actually think that, clearly people wouldn't turn off their alarm systems, Earth Hour was created to try and make people be more conscience of how much electricity they use, (i.e turning off lights/"gray energy") You can turn off your lights with out turning off security.

Oooops! I thought I read where a whole city powered down. hahahaha Any way I think it is pointless to do this. If we turn out lights then we'll light candles or make fires and cause more pollution. I have all flourescent lights and some L.E.D. lights. I would like to do more but it is too costly.
