That holds no relevance with the post... This sample is limited to the population of people who WERE hit as punishment. So your input is unnecessary.

Well I'm dissagreeing with this post, so it does have relevance. Like someone above said "Apparently 19 people didn't turn out fine" and someone else replied "Or they wern't hit as a kid" I'm just saying that even if you wern't hit as a kid you can turn out fine. Lot's of people use the "I was hit as a kid and I turned out fine" argument to hit their kids. But I don't necessarily agree with that. I was a well behaved child without being hit. I think that there are more effective ways of discipline.

I know, most people who are hit as kids turn out fine. I'm not disagreeing with that. But I personally was not hit as a kid. The post said "You were hit as a kid and you turned out fine" I was not hit as a kid and I turned out fine, so that's why I'm disagreeing with it.

But the way you phrased it, "No I was not hit as a kid, and I turned out fine," implied that OP insinuated that you couldn't turn out fine UNLESS you were hit, which s/he didn't. You just interpreted it as you wanted, ignoring all logic and reason.

If that's the way you wish to interperate my comment that's fine. But that's not what I was saying. The post did say "YOU were hit as a kid and turned out fine" I said "NO I was not hit as a kid and I turned out fine, as in me personally. Which is why I disagreed with it. When I wrote it I wasn't thinking that the OP ment that you HAD to be hit as a kid and turn out fine. Obviously some wires were crossed. I don't think anything more needs to be said on the matter. (Shell.): Woah woah woah. I never insulted anyone in this whole comment thread. I used the smiley face to show I had no hard feelings towards that person who misinterprated my origional comment, which obviously had relevance because I was disagreeing with the post. Someone else in the comments above also wasn't hit as a kid and disagreed, their comment is also relevant. Why the hell are people getting so butthurt over this? I WASN'T HIT AS A KID. Big deal. Other people were and turned out fine too. Cool for them.

I said that my brother is 18. Pedo Bear is not interested in him. So then, Pedo Bear is probably raping your brothers. Your Spanish isn't that bad, written down at least. Mine isn't even all that great because my parents didn't teach me all that much so I use what i know from school too, but school teaches weird Spanish. I probably don't use a lot of it correctly either though.

I got the wooden spoon, belt buckle, and normal spankings as a kid. I'm not saying that it was pleasant by any means, but I can see myself at least threatening these punishments with my kids. I'm not scarred by it at all, though.

me too, but not belt buckle. Just mom's hand and wooden spoon. Now that I think of it, those spankings are now funny childhood memories. My sister and I would get spanked, and my mom used to hold one of us down and tell the other to fetch the spoon. So one day we planned to break or hide the spoon. I broke it...and then she just started using the much bigger, plastic one, LOL. after we go older and could run away she would throw anything she could get her hands one, like a cell phone, slipper, remote, hair clip...hahaha...good times, good times...

(Life(:): Yep. My parents used to do that to me. Eventually I got scared and just started running all around the house screeching "GET AWAY FROM ME!!!" They only did that when I was really little. They don't do it to my younger brothers though... they only scare them by chasing them around and screaming in their faces.

I was never hit as a kid and I turned out better than both of my older siblings who were hit. That sort of puts me off ever hitting my kids.
