But the people who write the textbooks are experts and have studied and practiced the subject for years and years, to them it's just sharing the knowledge. They probably enjoy writing what they know so others can learn something about their favourite subject.

I had a teacher who wrote one of our text books. And she loved it so much I swear she took it home and had sex with it every night.

Oh my goodness, I used to think that until this year. One of the people that wrote my Pre-Calc textbook is a literary genius. He/She used INDIANA JONES in a story problem! I've actually laughed out loud at it before. Best textbook author ever.
