Why do atheists say "omg" it should be more like "oh my tree", amirite?

Do atheists suddenly worship trees? I must be missing something

Everybody knows atheists prance about at the feet of trees in praise of the alien overseer Zalzat'har whose genetic blue prints were left the finest of hickory stumps that subsequently evolved into the first men. Jeez its basic geology you should've learned this by now.

We say it when we find something hard to believe.

If so you can say "Oh my theory" ...talk about hard to believe.

One of the two has scientific knowledge backing it. The other has a book.
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's a gross assumption, just a book that's it? Really? How about reality? The scientific community will never come to a single conclusion to how the universe was made(for example), it's just going to be theory upon theory correction of the theory upon another theory. Science does not account for the supernatural and therefore may never lead to God but only complex theories. The bible has historical evidence, and prophecies that back it up just nicely...

Because It's a colloquial phrase that is widely used in society, it has nothing to do with believing in God.

I was going to say! Plus, wouldnt it make more sense for atheists to say it vs. a Christian breaking one of the ten commandments?
by Anonymous12 years ago
um since when did atheist worship trees? the point is that they don't worship anything....they just think everything is just there. Maybe when an atheist says "OMG" it means "Oh my goodness", it definitely lost its meaning, when i say it i don't think of God or anything remotely religious.

Because saying something like "Holy Evolution!" or "Oh my coincidental formation of the universe!" makes you sound like you're the young sidekick/sometimes fuck-buddy of a campy 1960's superhero.
