+187 Why is it okay for teachers to say that they were "too busy" to grade the classes papers, but if we didn't have time to finish their huge load of homework, then it's the end of the world? amirite?

apples and oranges

Not a legitimate retort.

alright fine teachers and students are like apples and oranges in this case both are fruits but they differ a student has assignments from different classes and for the teacher, the assignment is multiplied by the number of students of course this is their job, but unlike the students, the teacher does not have a due date

True, but you should really learn to take things on this site with a grain of salt.

true that

That may be true, but students have to think when doing their work, but teachers just copy off an answer sheet. The ones in my school do anyway, and even if they set the assignment themselves, they made their own answer sheet and most of the work is already done by the time they assign the assignment. And why doesn't the teacher have a due date anyway? Surely they can't just hoard assignments till the day before the test and expect the students to learn their mistakes in one night?

there aren't specific answer keys for things like papers where each student generally has different responses grading papers can be a lot more taxing than that unless one goes through the process firsthand of what it's like to be a school teacher, it's not easy to know how the process works most of us can relate to being students since many of us are or have been one but people aren't relating that much to teachers

I mean things with definite answers. Like eve nopen ended questions have some points which are pretty easy to pick out. Usually, compositions and stuff have like one a week, so the teachers have the weekend to mark. Most teachers of all subjects cope pretty well, except for my 8th grade geography teacher. He had this plan to give us a newspaper assignment every two weeks, but never returned the first one.

Yet another reason why being an adult kicks ass.

Also, a student only has to do the one assignment. The teachers usually have 60+students to individually grade. Takes them much longer.

I never had only one assignment in school. I was lucky if I didn't have homework from every single class.

I guess I can see why it would be hard for teachers who have 140+ students, like at my old school, but at my current school last year, where each teacher only teaches about 40 students, my English teacher told us he'd grade an assignment over the weekend, but then on Monday said he didn't get around to it because he was watching a really good basketball game. That I don't think is fair.
