Not really... I mean, who are you to tell me that I don't love someone? Or that my parents don't love each other? In my opinion, if you are going to think that way, then specify that whether or not you believe in love for YOURSELF is up to you. You can't just go around saying that you don't believe other people can love, either.

Great way to be a pessimist.

How am I being a pessimist...? People who think they can go around claiming that love doesn't exist or is a theory, period, are the pessimists here. My parents love each other. Who are you, or anyone else, to say that they don't simply because they don't love anyone themselves?

You are denying me of my opinion to justify your own. Who's to say love isn't just an illusion created by our own selfish minds? T love is someone is to do so because it makes OUR OWN SELF feel good. It is but another selfish emotion, therefore not fulfilling its own definition.

Love isn't about making yourself feel good. That's an effect of the actual thing, which is the conscious decision to care about a person no matter what and, to further the definition to include romantic love, to be with someone who is compatible with you for the rest of your life, and feel romantic feelings toward and such. Love, in its pure form, is about other people, not yourself. If your idea of love is pleasing yourself, that's not love. It's self-serving hedonism and pleasure-seeking mindset.

FYI I believe in love, I also believe in people having their own opinion. You are very close minded and that is very bad in today's society.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never said you didn't. I'm saying that if that's a person's idea of love, then it's not love. I'm actually not very close-minded, I just have what's called an opinion that I stick with. I think it's close-minded to call people close-minded. To say that my opinion makes me close-minded is close-minded of you to say. It's a cycle, you see.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think its close minded for you to not recognize you're close minded. By denying me of my opinioon you're being a supressor. Is there something wrong with the color of my skin, my religion or maybe my sexuality?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You can't win with that. I could just as easily say it's close-minded of you to insist that I'm close-minded. I don't think close-mindedness if really the issue here, anyway. I have never denied you of your opinion, but when your 'opinion' goes so far as to insist that other people cannot love because you yourself cannot or do not love (and I'm not saying that is your opinion, but I am saying that in my opinion, that mindset is going too far), it's going too far. Love may be a theory for oneself. But, as I inquired before, who is anyone to judge others and their ability to love based on what they feel personally? Waht does the color of your skin, your religion, or your sexuality have remotely to do with anything we are discussing?

In case you couldn't tell, I'm mind fucking you, and its working.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

O.o Ok? Sorry, I'm into intelligent debate, I mistook this for one. Toodles

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's ok. It was until I accepted your opinion that I decided to stop.

Love is something you feel, more like an emotion I believe

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Love is not an emotion. That's what liking someone/infatuation is. Love is a decision

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't believe in love because I cant see it. There is no reason and no evidence. Why are you shoving down your beliefs down my throat? Love screwed over more people than it helped. I am an athelovist

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't believe 'athelovist' is a real word. You can't see wind, either, but you can see the effects it has on other things. You can't see love, but you can see the effect it has on other things and people.
