-368 If you're going to say something mean about me, at least have the decency to say it behind my back so that I don't have to hear it, amirite?

I'd rather be angry and defend myself against my known enemies than deal with my reputation slowly being destroyed by an unknown person for an unknown reason. better the evil you know than the evil you don't.

I'd rather a person say something mean to my face, so that I can laugh in theirs.

This had a positive rating before making it onto the homepage :(

A least it made it onto the homepage and gets recognition :)

If you're going to say something mean to me say it to my face so I can slap the shit out of you for saying it.

I think that most of the people on this site are the kinds that would rather have shit talked to their face so they can counter back , instead of going around in ignorance with the belief that no one's saying anything mean about them .

Maybe I'm just weird, but I really don't care what people think about me. I have my friends who I know like me and that is enough for me. Not to sound conceited, but I am a good and worthy person and if people disagree based on hearsay then I don't want to know them. I wouldn't really mind if people said something mean to my face, I would probably either use a witty retort or just end the conversation. But honestly it hasn't happened yet, unless you count playful teasing among friends (which I don't). @PersonaNonGrata I use this site primarily for impersonal and objective arguments and secondarily for jokes. But I accept that I'm in the minority.

I'm assuming, but maybe the reason you feel that way is because it hasn't happened to you. I'd rather have my enemies out in the open than feel the crushing betrayal when you find out a person's true words and feelings. I wish it would just stop happening. If a person who pretended to like me would just drop the act, then at least I'd know, right? Instead of doing kind things for them and considering them a good person. Believe me, it's a lot better to have that stuff out in the open :/

Maybe I'm just better at picking friends... Bazinga!

Wow. That was nice. You don't even know my situation. I thought we could have a nice debate, but I guess I was wrong.

Here was I thinking we could have a light-hearted joke, but I guess I was wrong.

I'm afraid that sarcasm doesn't translate well through text. What was so funny about what I said?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nothing, I was the one being funny.

Depends on who's saying it and what they're saying. But I'd probably rather it was to my face, so I can throw something right back at them and just walk away.

If someone said something mean to my face or within earshot, then I'd know they said it and be upset. If they say it behind my back, then I have no idea. Ignorance is bliss as they say, right? :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'd rather someone had the balls to confront me about it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I will talk to you about it no hiding.
