+241 Guy friends are there for two things: Someone to talk to, and someone to hit, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I doubt most guys want to sit around and listen to girls talk about themselves and complain about their lives. That's something other girl friends can do. So if that is seriously the reason why they're your friend, that's kind of selfish. And shallow.

Notice how OP said "someone to talk to", //not// "someone to complain about my white girl problems to"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

aren't all friends people to 'talk to?' I dunno, that kinda seems like the point of a friend in general. And girls seem to mistake 'someone to talk to' with 'someone to complain about my white girl problems to.' But yeah, you have a point.

But guy friends are more chill with everything, that's why a lot of girls have them. Because girls are kind of uptight and get grossed out easily. Guys? Not so much. You can be more open with them.

I have a guy friend like this and he is genuinely there to help so I don't find that selfish he just wants to help me and have me be happy and I'm there for the same reason for him

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well, I did say 'most' guys. So yeah, I kind of assumed there'd be an exception. You don't actually need to point that out. besides, anyone who's your true friend should naturally want to help with your problems. However, some girls go way overboard with this when it comes to guy friends and spend a lot more time than they should talking about their problems instead of perhaps doing something their friend would actually WANT to do.

yeah im pretty sure OP meant that guys are good for having a two way conversation, not for complaining to.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I can't figure out for the life of me why you people think that just guys are good for two-way conversations. People in general are good for two-way conversations. To me it seems like when OP says 'someone to talk to' OP means 'someone to talk to about your problems.'

i figured it was like "friends are for someone to talk to, so you get that with guys, but also, with guys, its ok to play hit them"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I play hit my girl friends friends all the time o_o since when is it not okay to play hit your girl friends?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

idk i mean some of my female friends are ok with it but guys u can hit harder and some guys just like getting in physical fights over like the remote or something

by Anonymous 12 years ago

and someone to fuck.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I thought that's what the OP meant by "hit." I read it as "someone to hit it"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Your name+what you wrote severely disturbs me...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm pretty sure my guy friend would get pissed if I was just "complaincomplaincomplain oh let me punch you for a second complaincomplaincomplain." If I wanted to hit someone, I'll hit someone I'm mad at, not someone who is nice enough to listen to me when I rant.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think the punching and complaining take place at different times... and it doesn't necessarily have to be complaining, girls talk to me all the time about this and that

by Anonymous 12 years ago

why do people assume that by "talk to" OP meant "complain"? i figured it meant "have a conversation"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because there is a stereotype that a guy and a girl can't have a completely platonic relationship, without one person being the stepping stone of the other.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't know whether to hope that you don't have violent and easily angered guy friends to hope that you do.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I read this as gay friends, which kinda also works.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm assuming this is intended for girls... because if I tried to talk to my guy friends, they'd think I was gay and if I punched them, they'd probably start a fight.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The votes would be completely different if that said "Girl" instead of "Guy".

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Which is ironic because most of the "talk" that occurs is about how she can't find a good guy, lolwut dumbass I'm right here.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Talking could be about hopes and dreams, fears, home life, school life, and also, the classic what-did-you-get-on-the-homework-from-last-night? question. Not all girls are shallow and only want to complain. I know I don't complain to my guy friends; that's what girl friends are for.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Can guy friends also be for dating? We would like that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So long as you become a douche and start punching them

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wait. Girls can hit guys, but as soon as a guy hits a girl, he's in deep shit? Blasphemy!
