We learn History because history tends to repeat itself. If we never learned about Hitler or WWII, we would probably be experiencing a WWIII because we would've never learned how to be the civilized people we are today..

That's sort of what OP is saying. We know that history repeats itself and we should learn from history, but in reality we keep doing the same things. We keep fighting over pointless shit, and it will be that way for the rest of time, most likely.

Superpowers no longer attack other superpowers, that's a pretty big change, also due to the cold war and the realization that a nuclear war is mutually assured destruction we are not currently dropping nukes around. War has changed entirely since WWI&II.

Basically OP is saying that history blessons are not logical because if we keep learning about the past, we can't advance more in the future by use of military goods. I'm just saying that if we learn still about history, then we would develope the sense of learning from our mistakes, thus learning how to talk issues out with other countries and not just shooting eachother aimlessly while trying to get our points across.
