+427 I have √(-1) friends, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

At first, I read this as the integral of -1 friends...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

With respect to what variable? Unless you have limits, that's not going to work.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I am too tired for this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol do u get it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It means "imaginary", basically. :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Eugh math Uhhh...is it 4? lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@637535 (wobbuffet): I'm pretty sure the OP meant √(-1)^4 friends.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol I love this. My friend always puts nerdy jokes in my calculator during Calc. I finally have something to retaliate with. :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

math jokes are an obvious sine of geekiness

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, I see what you did there. Way to be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hehe math jokes = <3

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I read this first as "I have i friends" and couldn't figure it out, until I actually spelled out imaginary and then it made sense

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, I actually don't get this. The square root of -1? What?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The square of any negative number is called an imaginary number. If you're in algebra II or III this year, you should be learning it soon.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

aww, this is the reason i live amirite!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

forever alone :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

could also be interpreted as "no real" friends

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm surprised that so many people understood the joke. However, if I posted a calculus joke, I'm pretty sure it would get maybe 5 YYAs.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh I didn't understand, I read comments XD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I didn't fully understand until I read the comments

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Alright, I'll post it, and then right afterwards, I'll comment on it explaining it :P Check my profile to see it if you want.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I legit just learned this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I understand this. I am such a nerd.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, does anyone else find it funny that people are *surprised* people understand a joke from algebra 2? Baby material.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry if I haven't taken Algebra II. By the way, this is Pre-algebra/Algebra I.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I /JUST/ learned about that yesterday. I feel like the person that wrote this Amirite is someone in my Trig class.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol that would be funny if i actually was in your class

by Anonymous 13 years ago

HEY this was on the homepage already d

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I figured out that they're now re-homepaging posts

by Anonymous 11 years ago
