+592 Yeah, we can send money to starving children in Africa and that's great and all, but why can't we send giant boxes of condoms too? It would prevent the spread of AIDS, prevent overpopulation, and reduce the amount of children born with AIDS, amirite?

We do. Condoms and mosquito nests. It's sad, really.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They demonstrate how to use them on bananas though. This happened a couple of times- the missionaries revisited and all the condoms were on bananas.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OH cause the only way to transfer AIDs is by sex

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sex is a way to spread AIDS. Maybe prevent was the wrong word to use. Whatever. You get the point.

Oops, reread post, I can still haz cracker?

Rape is the primary form of AIDS-spreading in parts of Africa.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're the primary form of AIDS-spreading in parts of Africa.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You know it, baby. I got on a boat, sailed to Africa, and boned every single person I could possibly bone in order to spread AIDS, because that's what I want to do with my life. Speaking of which, call me. ;)

They are sending over condoms : ) BUT there are Christian missionarys that go over and tell them that using contraception is wrong : | Their needs to be education on the subject, in lots of African cultures men are considered more manly the more children they produce. Also alot of people don't know how HIV is spread.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People try, but it's sad to know that in most LDC's women are uneducated about this kind of protection It sounds really easy to send just loads of protection for them, but distributing is easier said than done

by Anonymous 13 years ago

people in africa shouldn't have sex so much,

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They need to be taught about the diseases and all that happens. Men have multiple wives there and even though they have all those wives, they still go and fool around with other women because men are THE BOSSES there. I'm not just making this up, I've lived there since February of 2005.

umm condoms don't prevent the spread of STDs

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...ugh there the most effective way to prevent sti's.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh really? because im prety sure the most effective way to prevent STDs is to not have sex

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but who wants to do that

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Oh hey people of Africa. We were going to send you money and food and all that great shit but we decided to go a different way. Here's a box of codoms so just do ya know do... whatever. Peace out."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Note the word "too". Synonym for also. Food. Money. AND Condoms. Read thoroughly before commenting.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Note the fact that I'm just kidding around.

Africa is not the only continent that has a lot of people living there. Also, it's really hard to prevent AIDS with condoms.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I heard that they were taught a song about contraception and stuff, but then they ended up thinking that just the song by itself was enough to prevent STD's and pregnancy...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Um, they're not retards ... Condoms wouldn't help much. They'd help some, but not much. AIDS (over there) would mostly be transferred through stuff like blood transfusions, vaccines and razor blades because of the state of the medical institutions. You'd find doctors vaccinating tons of kids with the same syringe, or barbers shaving about twenty people with the same razor blade because they haven't got enough money to buy more. So in that sense, money is more useful. The amount of wives has been constant; AIDS has only spread recently.
