+754 People who complain about not having jobs, but are picky and refuse to work at jobs like McDonalds or Walmart need to either shut the hell up or get a job, money is money, amirite?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Well, economically speaking, for them: The opportunity cost of a better job > marginal benefit of working at a place where anyone could work.

But when you don't have the money you need to pay your bills and are too 'high and mighty' to 'slum it' at McDonalds, it's a little bit ridiculous. Even you'd have to agree.

Well actually that raises the question if a job at McDonald's has a pay rate which can sustain a modern living. But if hypothetically it could, I would be more of the opinion that they could do what they want. I personally like a warm home, but if someone likes the harsh conditions of living outside, far be it for me to nitpick them. But if they would rather pay their bills and live inside, McDonald's offers enough pay and they still complain about not having a job, then by all means you are correct.

Or maintaining the standard of living that a person has become accustomed to. There's also the issue of "what if McDonald's won't hire you because you're ridiculously overqualified and assumes you'll bail the second something better opens up?"

But not being paid enough to maintain your standard of living is still better than not being paid at all. You can modify your standard of living if you absolutely need to. Some money is better than no money.

According to you.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Are you saying that no money is better than some money?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

If it doesn't sustain a living either way, then I am saying it's up to an individual whether some money and working would be preferable to no money and lots of free time. I had a part-time job little over two years ago (for about two years), and had about as much money as a kid my age needed but decided the money wasn't worth all the trouble I went through. So I quit. Now, I can't seem to find a place hiring, but would not trade my time for a job at McDonald's, so I suppose I could be an example of who you posted an amirite? about. Take that as you will, it's all relative.

I've been applying everywhere in my town that is hiring for about three months. I would love to be offered a job at McDonalds or Walmart. People who refuse to work in those places really should shut the hell up.

AMEN!

go to wally. you get a raise every year or more if youre good at your job, benefits, and a bonus every 3 months.

Absolutely, my brother and I are looking for jobs, but he only wants to wash dishes. He's never gotten a job interview while I've had 6 so far (admittedly I sucked at all of them, but I'm getting better) Hell I'd work in the sewers for minimum, I just want some goddamn money. He's never going to find a job with how picky he is.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Exactly! In this economy having a job is a good enough job. End of story, amirite?

I agree with the McDonalds part, but I would never work at Wal-Mart, let alone shop there. Nothing against it's products except the fact that they're all made in sweatshops.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

you cant say that about all products since every big store sells CRAYOLA including walmart

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I work at McDonald's, and sometimes I wonder if the money is worth the people you have to put up with -_-

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I definitely agree with killinkira. if you dont agree then shut the hell up

by Anonymous 14 years ago
