+152 Spedometers should be digital by now, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm sure they could, but they decide to keep it the way it is probably for several reasons: 1. Some people mix up numbers if they just glance at it quickly, e.g. 45 vs. 54 2. Especially when you're decelerating quickly, the numbers would be changing to quickly to be able to read 3. The ones digit would be changing so frequently it'd probably become a distraction 4. (Always my personal favorite) That's just the way it's always been done

Some cars come with digital speedometers as an option. They're not common, but they are available.

I've seen cars with digital... I think analog is better. It's like analog clocks are better for telling how much time is left and digital clocks are better for telling the exact time. Just because analog is older it doesn't mean it's not as good.

Digital spedometers have been around since the 90s. Clearly they are gone for a reason.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They'e not gone, but if they were what would that reason be?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If they haven't been eliminated then why bother asking for a reason why they might be?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

To know your opinion... that's the second reason we're all here. The first is to find out if we're right.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not here for either of those reasons.
