I don't associate with people who I think are ruining/will ruin themselves. It's a bit elitist or selfish, but it saves me some time and stress.

You're showing off about being a fair weather friend? I guess it's suiting that you having a Castanza pic up

It's not a blanket description of my relationships with all my friends. It just applies to most cases. I have a few friends I'd stick around for.

Her? I hope your friend turns over a new leaf. :)

You mean become a guy?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, become a better person? I signified "Her" because the OP wasnt talking in a general tone. This seems to be a post that the OP post to vent out a little bit.

I was joking, mate.

Awkward... Sorry man.

Don't make me shed any more tears than i already have.

I may or may not be "that one friend" in my group.

I'm not even allowed to talk to her anymore, and I was her main crutch. I'm so afraid for her.

She sets herself up and she doesn't even know. Sticks around the bad people. Falls for the wrong guys. She's falling apart and gettin worse even though I give her the best advice possible. I'm scared for her, honestly. She has problems and can't fix them which leads to her mental issues. It's a sad thing seeing a friend go through that and know that you can't help them. It breaks my heart.

shes 15, a guy she dated for a week broke up with her and she went and did drugs. i tried so hard to help her and i cried for her and she got mad for not 'understanding her'. so needless to say, theres not much i could do so i distanced myself.

To be honest, those friends are super annoying, well the ones that put themselves in those types of situations, and then get you involved.... Any advice? should I stick around for her? (even though it goes against my beliefs and only contacts me when she needs favors) or should I get rid of her? (even though she's constantly telling me I'm one of her true friends.)

this is is the position i find myself in ( see above comment). i would say to distance yourself. its obviously something you dont need in your life, and if she really wanted you, she'll come looking for you on her own. theres no need to put yourself in a position like that for someone who is like that. hope i helped :)
