It's reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaally hard to compress carbon. If you find a diamond, it should be a miracle. I mean, 800 degress Celsius is its melting point. You know how hot that is!? Not to mention diamonds are incredibly rare. It's not so much the material it's made out of, but just the item itself is rare.
