Tortur device?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The cross, crucifixion, I'm assuming is what this post is about.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If so, this guy is dumb, the cross isn't a torture device, it's a form of the death penalty, like the electric chair, or hanging.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeaaah I was about to say that. Probably stole it from dearblankpleaseblank anyways.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yup.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

jeez guys, you get my point! and no, I didn't steal this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It kinda was... If they wanted to kill someone they would just stab him or slit his throat or something. Crucifixion was designed to be as painful and as slow as possible.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Christians don't worship the cross. Just sayin...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the cross is a symbol representative of christianity. you get what i mean.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Christians started worshiping the cross after Jesus died on it so your post doesn't make any sense really

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There were no Christians before Jesus died.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Christians don't worship the cross. That would be idolatry; the cross is just a symbol. Christians worship God.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They should be worshiping the one on the cross lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People need to stop being so critical of this post. It makes perfect sense.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Christians don't worship the cross. We worship Jesus. Jesus died on a cross so that our sins could be forgiven, so the cross has become a symbol for that sacrifice. But the cross itself isn't God, which is why we don't worship it. And also, I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that the cross was a common symbol amongs christians during the first centuries ...
