You'd rather have no emotions than any emotions, amirite?

Sometimes I feel this way because depression is a bitch. However, I think that we don't truly appreciate our emotions enough. They are the way we can see real beauty where one might not see it regularly. Being more in touch with your emotions can give you a much richer life.

I'm just going to quote the musical Next to normal here
"Day after day, give me clouds and rain and grey. Give me pain if that's what's real, it's the price we pay to feel! The price of love is loss, but still we pay, we love anyway"

It's a bad thing that sociopaths can't feel happiness, but it is a good thing that sociopaths can't feel sadness.

You can't experience true joy without knowing true pain.

No emotion ultimately means no thought
No thought = unthinking droid without consciousness and without an ability to judge and lead life rationally.

Believe me, not feeling much of anything is awful. I'd rather be the way I am now (very irritable, mad, tired, anxious) than how I was a few months ago (pretty much just projecting a flat affect).

My therapist says I have almost nonexistent emotions. It's like having no purpose in life. I think i'd be content with hating the world rather than living each day on autopilot.

I know that the answer will be 'no', but was anyone else reminded of the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac series? "There's a disturbing association, in your mind, between feeling and weakness." You, with the post there- read it. The whole thing. That is what happens when people abandon emotion. That is how people drive themselves insane. Without emotion, you're hardly even human anymore... It's how people lose themselves. They get so caught up in their battles with their minds and emotions that they don't realize how much they're giving up to win. Apathy will not lead you to bliss; only heartache can do that.
