-128 There are 3 types of male British accents. The English, which sounds gay, the Scottish, which sounds angry, and the Irish, which sounds drunk, amirite?

Irish accents are the hottest though...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The British, which sounds hot, the Scottish, which sounds hot, and the Irish, which makes 90% of girls drop their skirts after the utterance of the first word.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

welsh?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i was thinking that. it's the best accent too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

stop the stereotyping! yes many drink, not all and many irish can drink without getting drunk

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Aww, did the intuwnet huwt yuw feewings?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Irish isn't British, though...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but North Ireland is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

actually, no, it isn't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't consider Northern Ireland part of Ireland, it's not the same at all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But within those accents there are sub-accents, you could say. For example, someone from London won't sound the same as someone from Cheshire.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how come no one has pointed out that Irish and Scottish aren't even British? Like...holy shit, figured someone would be all over that...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the main part of ireland isn't british, but scotland is. i think you're thinking of english m'love.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cockney? Liverpudlian? Nofolk Country Bumpkin? Too many groups within England alone. Not to ment Wales or the areas in Scotland with different twangs. And Northen Ireland is the only boarderline 'British' part of Ireland.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

IRELAND ISN'T BRITISH. Northern Ireland, is not Ireland. It is NORTHERN Ireland. Grr...the caps lock angry voice was necessary because I'm sick of people (even English people) referring to the entire country as a British country. It's fucking offensive to the centuries of conflict we went through to become a Republic. Srsly. -.- And you forgot Wales.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

props for remembering wales. but none of ireland is :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

None of Ireland is what, British? Northern Ireland is indeed British, just 6 counties, not the whole province.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no, northern ireland is in the UK, not britain.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Northern Ireland is part of the UK, which is what my dear? Why yes, it's British. The UK is short for The United Kindgdom of Britain, if I'm not mistaken?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sorry, but yddraigarian is right, Northern Ireland is not in Great Britain but it is in the UNITED Kingdom (hint hint). You might want to look at this: http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/questions/britain.html

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, look at that, the UK map shows NI highlighted, which is what I was saying anyway. If it's the United Kingdom of *Britain*, it's *British*. I never said it was in England, or Great Britain, just that it was British.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not that this sidetrack matters too much, I don't particularly mind what NI is classed as so long as the friggin' part I live in isn't lumped together as English/British/UK.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Where are you from? NI?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nope, ROI.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh yeah, sorry. Also I do realise that ROI is a completely separate nation to NI, and that you have different accents. I'm English, by the way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well then, hello neighbour. I'm going to assume/hope most English people would know there's a difference, but the number of randomer English people I've spoken to who assume ye still 'own' the whole country makes me want to slap them with a history book. -.- It's ok though, at least we're not as forgotten as Wales :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Britain isn't the same as the UK though?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the uk is "the united kingdom of great britain and northern ireland".

by Anonymous 13 years ago

English accents are so sexy!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They're ALL so hot. I wish I had an accent...but nah, I'm just another boring American girl...*sigh*
