+472 Thou shall not kill. Thou shall not commit adultery. Don't eat pork. I'm sorry, what was that last one? Don't eat pork? Is that the word of God, or is that pigs trying to outsmart everybody, amirite?

That's why I don't pay any attention to what's said in Leviticus, most of it was just the church leaders of the time getting together and saying "You know what, [insert act here] is socially unacceptable. Let's blatantly lie to the people and say that it's a sin to do [act], that God hates it when they do [act], and that they'll go to hell if they do [act]."

Then why would the almighty God allow those lies in his bible?

because he we write it, and there's nothing an unproven, apparently powerless deity can do about it.

Close, but not really? (sorry if I sound short; I'm on my phone, typed out a long reply, then accidentally hit "undo." ) Leveticus is basically a bunch of laws designed so the Jews can lead a sanctified life. They were supposed to be different from the heathens of the day. Specifically so the people would notice how differently they acted, and wonder why. That's their sole purpose. Then, in Matthew 15:11, Jesus says, "It's not what goes into a man's mouth that makes him unclean, it's what comes out of his mouth; this is what makes him unclean." Basically he's saying you don't need to alter your eating habits if you're just gonna sin anyways.

Really.* Not a question. Once again, cell phone.

Thank you, sir.

Lol, but in all serious, the New Testament says that you can eat everything, no product of God is "unclean"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ok, but Muslim's don't believe in the new testament, so why would they care what it says in Matthew?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wait, what? I'm pretty sure this post is about Christianity.
