What is this I don't even

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nah,their name might just be different because of the age the person that joined the site, their name can also be based off interests, way of thinking, personality, etc. So if you think the name "kittycat46A" is new,it might have been a user for two years and only joined at a very young age,but they can change it if they want to,even if it sounds more kiddish... Or you're too lazy to check someone's sign up date.

Could be wrong, but I don't think OP is talking specifically about amirite. On other sites, you can't change your username.

But if you can't change your username, then it would always be whatever you picked when you were new to the site, no matter how long it's been you joined.

Exactly. What I meant is if you're one of the lucky ones who chose a simple username, odds are you joined a long time ago. So if I chose the name Sam on another site, you'd probably guess that I joined a long time ago since its such a common name.

I think OP's referring to people who's usernames are just a name, or don't have any underscores or numbers or things like that. Like someone who's username is just simply "Kyle" as opposed to "Kyle_855." You can assume those people made their account a while ago, before most of the simple usernames were already taken, because they didn't need to put any extra numbers or symbols.

Mostly true although I've been on the site for a year but I just changed my name to "Mary" about 2 months ago so there's some normal names that are still available.
