Why is "E" not a grade on the A-F grading scale, amirite?

(yeah girl): We have A, B, C, D, & E in Anne Arundel County Public schools in Maryland, and also in college, depending on the professor.

In Pennsylvania we don't have F's. We have E's.

In New Zealand, they have a grading system that's: Excellence (E) which is an A,
Merit (M) which is a B,
Achieved which is a C,
and Not Achieved (NA) which is D or F =P
It was so hard to get used to. lol. So in some parts of the world they have E as a grade.

Ontario it's A,B,C,D,R but we just get percentages

In my towns elementary schools the grades are;
A - above average (100 or above [w/bonus points and such])
E - excellent (90-99)
P - proficient (80-89)
S - satisfactory (70-79)
N - needs improvement (65-69)
F – failure (0-64)

in my grade school it went E A B C D F. i dont care if E is excellent, i dis like my alphabet order being rearranged

In Michigan, for elementary its A (Academic) E (Excellent) S (Satisfactory) and U (Unsatsifactory). Middle school & up it, A B C D E F.

F 10-24
NG (No Grade) 0-9
