+144 Life is meaningless, we work so hard to assume wealth only to die and become dust, every thing we work for for the good of mankind will be all for naught when the universe runs its course, amirite?

Depends on your outlook. We do have nothing else, but this is all we've got, so really it's everything. And extremely meaningful.

What's with all the pessimistic, cynical posts making the HP lately? Has this become the hangout for depressed people all of a sudden, cause I didn't get the memo. Yes, everything has an end, but that hardly means its meaningless. Guess what, buddy. It's all on you to decide what to do with your life. Now, before you say anything about how so many people don't realize their dreams and blah blah doom gloom, no, it's not as easy as saying, "Hey, I wanna be a doctor" and walking into a hospital and start operating. You have to work! Yes, it's hard, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Like the moral in "The Princess and the Frog" Wishing on a star is only a part of it. Basically, what I'm saying is its up to you to give your own life meaning. However, if you'd rather sit back and just whine about how life is meaningless as an excuse to do nothing, well then I hardly feel bad for you.

And there is no absolute proof that death is the end.

We don't turn to dust. They say dust to dust, when really, its dust to wolves. Kinda. So, here's how it goes: dust to human body, human body to dead body, maggots eat dead body, maggots become flies, bats eat flies, foxes eat bats, wolves eat foxes; dust to wolf. Then the wolf dies, and the maggots eat it, ect. Its reincarnation, duh.

The point of living is not to live forever, it's to create something that will.
