+587 Science teacher- "So you see, it's the electron that balances the true atomic mass of the element, but this is how ISOTOPES are created, now there are isotopes and isomers and-" Student-" excuse me, are you sure you don't have a Bill Nye to explain this?", amirite?

Or a good joke. I liked the one about Gold and Potassium in a bar that was posted here not too long ago.

i did not see this joke. what was it haha

I can't remember exactly what they put, but this is how I told it to my friends: "Gold walked into a bar. Potassium said, 'Au! Get out of here!!' and Gold said, 'K.'"

ha thats great.

The electron's mass is so small that most scientists ignore it. There is no way that it "balances" the mass of the atom.

See? That's exactly why they need a Bill Nye to explain it. Obviously they just don't understand yet! Stupid science teachers.

I think you meant neutrons not electrons. Also, I don't see how a teacher could go from discussing isotopes to isomers. That's like going from Grade 10 Chemistry to Organic Chemistry. Plus, learning what isotopes are is basically among one of the simplest things you will ever learn in chemistry. If you don't get it, I don't think even Bill Nye could help you.
