My friend and I made a bet. I say that the next generation will be listening to rave/techno music with little or no lyrics. Even though I hate that kind of music, that seems to be the general direction of popular music. My friend claims that '90s music will make a resurgency.
by Anonymous13 years ago
if by 90s music you mean like Nirvana and stuff like that, then i hope your friend is right:) no offense
by Anonymous13 years ago
Trust me, I want her to be right, too.

My bet is on the resurrection of every crappy genre, combined into one. It'll be like a disco, grindcore, smooth jazz ball of crap.

not MY kids. They will listen Led Zeppelin and they are going to LIKE IT damnit!
by Anonymous13 years ago
My kids WILL listen to the Beatles, Beach Boys, and Stones, and they will like it!

I feel your pain batman

And I'm scared to think that it will all be artists like Justin Beiber or Miley Cyrus. Note: I use the term "artist" lightly.

Some combination of repetitive lyrics, techno, autotune, rap about sex drugs and money, loud screeching, beeping noises, whiny vocals, trance like guitar rhythms (or easy acoustic guitar chords), offbeat drums, and all packaged into a 5 minutes song you can totally "get down and freaky" to at rave parties. That, or the same soft voiced love/break up song, over, and OVER, AND OVER AGAIN. It's scary to think that brokeNCYDE will one day be considered classic. *shudder*

My Kids will...well I guess they can listen to what they want. Regardless, I will try my best to get some queen, muse, and the who in there. Hopefully some metal too.
