+660 You would much rather be underweight than overweight, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's easier to gain weight than it is to lose weight.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@1042216 (Katffro): not for everyone

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But still, having to increase calorie intake in a healthy manner seems easier than having to cut out all fats, watching your calories, AND exercising.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

depends on your metabolism. I'm 120lbs, if I stop exercising and eat as much I want I slowly start losing weight until I'm about 100-110lbs, once I stop exercising my muscle mass and appetite decreases hence causing me to lose weight. I can lose weight easily but if I wanted to gain weight (although why would i want to) I would find it difficult

When you're underweight and have a regular metabolism, your body needs energy and fat. Our bodies are still in pre-abundance-of-food mode, so if we need fat and lack it, our body will hold onto it. If we have excess fat, our body will still hold onto it in case we run out of food.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Our bodies naturally have inhibitors and stimulators that control our appetites and metabolism, these attempt to keep us within an ideal fat range (too much fat and we become vulnerable to predators), when we ignore them we get under- or overweight, once we are overweight the stimulators and inhibitors become out of sync (due to the expansion of our stomach and addictive qualities of some artificial foods) this makes it hard to lose weight. The reverse can happen where someone have trouble gaining weight but it's less common, for those people it can be next to impossible to reach a healthy weight, severe cases are often called anorexia.

YYA, but that wouldn't last long

by Anonymous 13 years ago

NO it's not awesome to be under weight. YOu're cold more often, you're actually weaker, you can't walk for without having a God awful headache, you can barely pick stuff up(If you were strong, you wouldn't be underweight), and you have about as much energy as an overweight person. Trust me, I felt this shit all the time when I was twenty pounds underweight. Still ten pounds, and I still feel all of that, just not quite as bad. You could be more overweight than twenty pounds without that sorta stuff happening, but under twenty pounds will fuck you up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm underweight, and I'm perfectly fine. I'm actually pretty strong, I'm barely ever cold (except when it's cold outside, but that's normal). Just because that was your experience doesn't mean it was/is everyone else's.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Good point, but the human bodies have to be somewhat similar, or being a doctor would be impossible.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im underweight, and i gotta say the people i played mercy with would admit im purdy strong, my arms are cut, my legs are hard as fuck, and i deffinatly have more enegry than an overweight person. but i am cold a lot. and whats this about not being able to walk without a god awful headache?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Idk, I might have an illness without knowing it. But I've heard of several other way underweight people getting headrushes easier than anything.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

maybe its low blood sugar.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha im 6'6 and only 177. i'm wayyy underweight and it's awesome. i can eat whatever i want and not feel bad. although i do need to gain more weight for sports

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're a fuckin' giant. lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and i'm invisible when i stand side ways

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think that's because you're underweight. I'm underweight (I have a BMI of 16 naturally) and I don't get all this stuff. I'm perfectly healthy and have heaps of energy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(BMI?) Well, you didn't drop from 138 to 118 in like less than two months with next to no excersize. Scared the living hell out of my doctor; he checked me for a few things to makes sure I wasn't dying. lol But I'm always tired, never hungry, and when I am, I eat like a sandwich or two and I'm very full.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well I wouldn't want either of those, but some of the weight on my body could either dissapear or move to somewhere where it isn't as noticeble. Or really if I had to be one or the other, I would go for underweight.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My ribs stick out now, and I'm a bit heavier than I usually am as it is (I'm not normally that skinny, my ribs are just weird shaped). If I was underweight I would look like a skeleton in a bikini...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then dont wear a bikini

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah because I like to eat and would hate to have to diet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That strictly depends on how much weight we're talking here. 10 pounds underweight? 20? 30? Are you asking if we'd like to be the same amount underweight as opposed to the same amount overweight or something like 10 pounds underweight as opposed to 100 pounds overweight?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I hate being underweight... I literally have stretch marks from where my bones stick out of my body, and i hate it so much... I overeat the most unhealthy stuff i can find and i still haven't gained a pound in years :s
