+221 In the TV series, "Pokémon", several pokémon have demonstrated the ability to let themselves out of their poké ball whenever they please. So, my question then becomes, what in the hell is keeping all the pokémon that resist capture inside those things?! amirite?

I dunno. What kept the 6 million Jews from revolting against the couple of thousand Nazis? Domanance between species, plus from the show, it kinda made out the Pokemon loved being in the balls as they could rest or something.

No, sir. Most wild pokémon are just that. Wild. They are shown regularly attacking people and other pokémon and will repeatedly break out of their poké balls when trainers first try to catch them. There have also been a few cases of captured pokémon outright refusing to obey their trainers. *is aware that he sounds like a total nerd right now*

There's a guard with an m16 standing outside mine. Very good post though.

That's why they had to weaken the pokemon before they captured them, so they'd be too weak to escape. After they've been captured though, they're usually pretty tame and more loyal to their masters, so they don't try to escape as much. The pokeballs are like their rooms, they go in there to rest after battles.

What about Primeape and Charizard? Those two couldn't care less about Ash at first.

I don't know abouot the stupid fire ape, but Charazard came out of his pokeballall the time.

First, you are right. Now that I remember, charizard did let himself out whenever. However, Primeape is a pure fighting type. I think you're thinking of monferno or infernape.
