I don't usually mind, but I was watching this one show where the characters' faces were drawn very calm and unemotional, but they were still yelling. What' up with that?

They also freak out a LOT. See something cute? "UHAAAAAAAAAAAH -turns into some arm flailing thing saying "Kawaii" over and over-" Battle scene? Takes the entire episode filled with flashbacks and yelling about who and why they are fighting ("I WILL PROTECT ___ AND SAVE ____ AND DEFEAT YOU BECAUSE YOU STOLE THE SACRED ___ FROM MY MOTHER AND THEN KILLED HER WHEN I WAS A BABY AND -blahblahblah-)! Get a papercut? Gallons of blood will spill out as you scream in agony!

Maybe its a rule that anime characters have to yell in the episode at least five times. and have flash backs during EVERY BATTLE SCENE. "Stop yelling at me!" "WHAT? THIS IS MY NORMAL SPEAKING VOICE."

Shonens epsecially. In Shojos they sparkle so much they look like Twilight vampires.
