-175 Sometimes in school you wish they didn't have gym, music, art or the other useless subjects so your day could be shorter, amirite?

Holy penis McGibble

Without these "useless classes", school would be WAY more boring.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

boring and short.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Long and hard hello

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I enjoy playing music for your information.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Fortunately, I don't take any of the "useless classes" anymore.

Your school day must suck...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Its probably college.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That would make sense...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or maybe she's not in school at all

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That would be another explanation...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

IDK why this has so many NWs. If you actually liked one of those classes, just do it on your own time...

It's free in school. Art classes (for example) can be pretty expensive, even if you don't take the cost of materials into account. Doing it on your own can only get you so far, plus a lot of people have trouble doing something regularly if there isn't a class to go to, even if they like the activity itself. I think kids should at least be given the option to do them. As far as I know, most of those classes are optional in high school (even gym is only for 2 years at most schools I know of, and it's one of those things that's neccessary to health.) If you don't like those classes, you don't have to take them.

Who needs art classes? There's the internet for that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If they did remove those subjects, they wouldn't make the school day shorter. They would most likely fill up the empty time with less enjoyable work.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, more useful work.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How useful it is has nothing to do with how enjoyable it is.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

School isn't meant to be enjoyable, it's meant to be useful.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I didn't say school was meant to be enjoyable.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well I'd rather go to school to learn traditional educational topics such as math and English rather than learn how to draw a flower or run a lap.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Okay. I think everybody has their own tastes and would prefer doing different things at school, but I know what you mean.

These classes actually aren't useless at all. I've seen in several places studies mentioned on how music helps in the learning process and in your ability to gather information. I'll try to find one.

I always wished this while in school

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Those classes were always the highlights of my day in elementary/middle school when they were mandatory. Now that they're electives, I try to take a few so I know I have at least one class that won't stress me out.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1. Those aren't useless courses (ok, gym can be) 2. Are you actually forced to take music and art? 3. No, it wouldn't make the day shorter, they would put other stuff in it. Last year I didn't take any of those "useless" classes and I still had a normal length day.

I'm pretty sure that the OP was basically just trying to say "It'd be better if all we had to do at school was the four major courses so that the school day would be a lot shorter, amirite?"

I'm pretty sure that the OP was basically just trying to say "It'd be better if all we had to do at school was the four major courses so that the school day would be a lot shorter, amirite?" I don't think they had actually meant to call the classes "useless" but morely just time consuming.

I have art third period and band at the end. I look forward to those classes. If I didn't have them I would probably be depressed :(

Why don't you run back to your cubicle and have fun counting things
