Lol. Well, of course you can be a tattoo artist with a whole bunch of tattoos, but what about after that..?

there would be no 'after that' they would remain an artist. Why would you give up that freedom to look how you want?

no and yes you can, why would you say that? you dont know. Have you heard of Kat Von D? She has been tattooing since she was 14 (27 or 28 now) and isnt stopping anytime soon, she has a lot going for her, got a show, 2 books, a wonderful shop-she technically can afford not to tattoo anymore, but she keeps doing it because she loves it. Tattooing is not just some job people get for a while and then stop to become a nurse or some shit like that. It is a career and a lifestyle, and the key word is that these people are ARTISTS. Even if they stop tattooing, they would still be creating art. If you are good, you can make REALLY GOOD MONEY doing it. On average people charge 100$ an hour-and some pieces take as long as 12 hours or more to complete-so you can do 1 tattoo in 1 day and make like 1200 bucks
