If your depression doesn't effect your life it's manageable, amirite?

If it doesn't affect your life, it's not true depression.

What if it doesn't show?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Even if no one else can tell, true depression will ALWAYS affect your life (otherwise it's not classified as depression.)
Depression = constant sadness, lack of interest, possible feelings of worthlessness or thoughts or attempted suicide. Tell me how that doesn't affect your life.

wtf how would it not affect your life?

It might not constantly affect your life, but in order for it to be depression, it does have to affect you. I mean, I was diagnosed with depression when I was 16, but I'm not sad/suicidal 24/7. According to most professionals, you have to have certain feelings (like feeling "down") at least 4 days a week.

You act as if depression is like stubbing your toe.

How is it depression if it doesn't affect your life? Depression has a major affect on a person so therefore it affects their life.

If your depression doesn't affect your life, then it shouldn't be considered to be the level of depression.
