+282 the war on drugs would be much more effective, and cheaper, if marijuana was not included in that discussion, amirite?

YOU SHOULD BOTH WATCH SUPER HIGH ME

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Seen it. The Union is way better.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hahaha, "more effective", you say that as if it's done anything but waste money and harm the country. Best option would be to legalize all drugs, period.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Stupid potheads.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Y u so hurtful, tho?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

or, you know... just stop doing pot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why, so it doesn't matter if it's illegal or not? What about the cancer patients that use it to eat after chemo? What about the luekemia patients that use it to sleep because their incredible pain wakes them up at night? What about people who have operations, and use it to cope with otherwise intolerable pain? What about the incredible stimulation the economy would get if it were legalized and people kept smoking it? What about the mind-boggling number of applications hemp has? These are things that nobody thinks about, and people should really just wake up and face the facts.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

derp of course i wasnt talking about medical uses. did you notice i did not say anything about changing it's current legal status? what i'm saying is if people weren't breaking the law because they're so desperate for a trip, none of this shit would be a problem. my dad smoked pot and now he's divorced from my mom because he started stealing medications from my ADHD prescription. i'm not saying all pot smokers grow up to steal pills from their daughter, but it doesn't get much better. and also don't give me anything about how the beatles smoked pot and such, because the addictive (i.e., life-ruining) qualities of pot in the 60s were completely different than now. marijuana today is not the same pot that they had 70 years ago.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just thought I'd point out, you don't "trip" on pot. That's a sign you really don't know what you're talking about. In fact, smoking pot is the opposite of desperation. It's a willingness to go out of their way to spend a bit of money and risk getting caught in order to do something that's not unhealthy and not dangerous. People who are desperate do inhalants, which are perfectly legal. The only way in which pot is addictive is the same way that EVERYTHING is addictive; psychologically. It's not physically addictive. Oh look, the gateway theory!! How cute. Too bad that most people who work their way up to pills started with alcohol or cold medicine. It's also worth noting that the prescription pills you take are basically legal cocaine or meth, and are hundreds of times more harmful and habit forming than pot. You also can't really gauge how powerful pot is from time-to-time, seeing as there's a MASSIVE difference between ditchweed and high quality stuff.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's the same stuff, maybe only the slightest bit stronger. I wasn't going to bring up the Beatles, and there's no need to. People from all over the social spectrum smoke it. Everyone, from teachers to doctors, from engineers to scientists. It's a universal thing. Finally, 70 years ago was the 50s, not the 60s.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

.... it is 2011. 2011-50 = 1961, i.e. the 60'sand oh. people smoke pot. therefore it's okay. nice argument. the slightest bit? the THC levels are significantly higher. and you can call it a "theory", but that isn't going to bring my old dad back.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Use a calculator next time. 1961 + 70 = 2031. I'll let that slip, though. I make mistakes, too. I didn't make that argument. If I were to make an argument, it would be that people will smoke pot, and there's nothing that can be done about that. With that baseline, the best option would be to legalize and regulate it. Like I said, there's a massive difference between the low quality and the high quality weed. There's no overall increase in strength from then 'til now. People like to think so, but there's not. Even if there were, people have been smoking hash oil for hundreds of years, and that's 100% THC. It doesn't get any higher than that. It is a theory, one that holds absolutely no weight. Tell me, was pot the ONLY thing your dad ever did? No cigarettes, alcohol, prescription pills, etc.?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My mom told me he went from pot to cocaine in his 20s, then went clean so he could marry her. When they had me (my half-brother already had ADHD, too) I guess there were pills all over the place and he couldn't resist or something, but that's just speculation. I just know it went pot-cocaine-pills. Of course there's low quality and high quality weed, and I think it's a safe assumption most of the junkies being caught with it and costing tax dollars to be put into prisons are the ones smoking the low quality weed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I guarantee you he drank, as well. People just don't usually mention it because it's legal. Alcohol is one of the worst drugs. "Costing tax dollars" That's just another reason to legalize it. If you know that there's varying qualities, you know that the "increase in strength" thing isn't true. They don't do formal testing on illicit substances all too often.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You really, really, really need to educate yourself on something before you try and start an argument. ADHD is not that big of a deal. Plus the pills you take is just something to help you concentrate. Your dad is an idiot for taking them because you dont get a "high" from them. THe most your going to do is clean or something productive. Marijuana has not killed one person. Its impossible. Cigarettes on the other hand kill thousands of people a day. Legalizing Marijuana would bring many jobs to a very high unemployment America. The only people it would be hurting is your local exotic pharmacist. Please take your ignorant views somewhere else. If you'd like to join the conversation again I sugest you educate yourself highly. (Weed joke, could'nt resist)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

One of my mistakes is right there, 70 years ago would be 1941, not the 50s.

by Anonymous 13 years ago
