Not really, you also have to consider the quality of the ports, the capability's of the graphics, the hard drive space, the controllers, the fact you have to pay for xbox live, how much of a douche the people on each live are... etc.

true but with the next gen consoles the ports are basically the same as is the graphics, the Ps3 is a hair better in graphics. controllers are basically a carbon copy with a different signature, You do have a point with the live but its only 50 bucks for a year, and bonus stuff. and there are some pretty douched up people on both as of yet the Xbox exclusives are better than the Ps3's but not by much, so its pretty much a toss up

there are more people on xbox live because it has been out on the market a good while longer, and the graphics are better on the PS3 with a HD TV and all that, but its not that big of a difference, my friend has a huge HD TV and a PS3 and it looks amazing, and i have a xbox with the HDMI chord on my HD TV and they both look almost the same. also, while online for PS3 is free, in my opinion, (and my friend's opinion who is the owner of the PS3) agree that the services and features are better on the xbox, and both consoles have the douche bag annoying jack asses online, trust me I know, and while yes, the hard drive on the PS3 can be bigger, the xbox can have 250 gigs, and if thats not enough, you either need to stop playing that many games, or stop uploading all of your music on to it (:P), and as for quality, they are both decent quality, sure the xbox is slightly more fragel, but not by much, and so long as you take care of your equipment, its not much of a difference and the-

I was only insulting the "gamers" because of how much time and money they spend on pointless games. I'm not speaking out of my ass here, I used to play video games too. The fact that someone does what you used to do doesn't mean that they haven't grown up or that it is immature, it just means that it wasn't your thing. Spending time and money on something that you like and drawn enjoyment from is not pointless. that is like saying that spending time and money on a vacation is pointless, and its not. when you said they "can't stop" that isn't true either because if they couldn't how could they go to work to afford the games or the systems? Well, do you see anything wrong with a 23 year old man playing with Barbie dolls or some other "action figures?" If he likes doing this and "draws enjoyment" from it then is it ok? Would you consider this man playing with dolls for about 2-4 hours a day a little immature? Or would you consider it just fine simply because it wasn't your thing, but it might be his. The answer is no. Most people would laugh at a man like that because they are outside observers and it looks ridiculous to them. But to the man, and most kids, it is not at all immature to play with dolls. Similarly, "gamers" could never imagine themselves as immature, which is why they get so angry when others call them naive. And I didn't mean they "can't stop" literally, I meant they are addicted. Also, I should start playing video games again?! That's the worst advice I've ever received. The thought of playing games is laughable to me.

actually the answer is yes. just because i don't like that doesn't give me the right to be judgmental of him. nor does the fact that many people would criticize him for it make it okay to do so. even if you are the type to judge people for things like that, video games are more socially acceptable and they are made for a wide range of people. You sir are narrow minded. and some gamers are immature and know it but not because they like to play video games. I have a question because i don't want to be a hypocrite, exactly how does playing video games make me naive? Being addicted means physical and psychological dependence on psychoactive substances. it means that an addict physically and psychologically needs what ever it is. so it means that they cant stop. I find it a little hard to believe that you ever played video games in the first place given how avid you are against them. I don't think that you realize just how narrow minded you are being about this.

You can talk about the definition of addiction or get philosophical about being judgmental, but that's all irrelevant. Here's the point, I DID play video games and I don't know why that's so hard to believe. I'm sure there are many former gamers out there who finally see that all time and money they spent on games were a waste. When you're a kid that's not really important because it's usually not your money and time is not very valuable to you at the time. When you get older, however, both of those things become very important. This is where you become an adult and leave playing video games behind, but some people obviously don't do that. From a reasonable point of view, the better choice to make is to stop wasting time and money on games. And that's pretty much the difference between child and adult. The adult chooses logic over fun. But of course, it's your life and you can live it any way you want. I won't come to your house to stop you from playing games.

Anyways the point that I am trying to get you to see is that if you enjoy it then its not a waste of time. The most of the time miserable adult chooses logic over fun. But the logical adult sees that life is too short to go without fun, now don't get me wrong, money is very important seeing as we live in a market economy and a capitalist country, but living your life to the fullest is even more important. The reason i have a hard time believing that you ever played is that i know people who played video games all the time when they were younger like 20 who are now about 30 but none of them have ever said it was a waste of time and money. "Life is too short to go without fun." Sounds like something a high school student would say to not do homework. Anyway, I can see that it's futile trying to get gamers to see the flaw in playing video games as a hobby. It's like trying to get a small child to not play with toys- it's impossible. I have neither :B I have a wii tho. I have a PS2 just for dance dance revolution haha. I sold all my other games for it because I don't play anything else on it and the controllers are broken. I have a nintendo 64, too. it never broke, yo. If I had a lot of money randomly I would get xbox for kinect, but I probably never will.
