I was climbing Mt Yale (elev. 14,200 ft) in the Rockies. If I had known anywhere within the first few hours how far it was I would have quit without remorse. But by the time I could actually tell where the peak was I kept going because there was no way I was going to not make it after all that crap before. Then I climbed up the boulders to the very top and pissed off the edge
