The media made the modern zombie, prior to that were the legends of HooDoo zombies, so in a sense they already have created the media version of the zombie, far before the media version of the vampire, it just happens to be good.

Well the media didn't sell out on the zombie, and it hasn't changed much from how the "original" zombies were. Then again, there's many variations of the zombie. Resident Evil, 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, etc.

Those are all completely different from the HooDoo zombie though, which was (according to legend) someone brought back from the dead by a shaman and/or alchemy and used as a slave, but were actually people given a neurotoxin and beaten until they were mindless machines, the media has changed them almost as much as vampires have been changed, zombies were just changed before our time.

I know about the HooDoo zombies. Just because media doesn't portray them as such zombies, doesn't mean it's ruined them. I don't see how you think so. I mean, zombies are zombies. Shoot them in the head, and they die.

I didn't say ruin, I said they've been changed by the media, my point is that I don't think that they WILL be ruined, because the media has already adjusted them to the biggest demographic, whereas vampires up until recently were almost the same as they'd always been.

Sorry, I thought you were OP >.< Zombies are so flexible on what kind they are. I don't think zombies can ever be ruined by media for that reason. I love zombies, no matter what. :3

No, I think people on MLIA ruined it. "NEEDLESS TO SAY YOU'VE READ THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SURVIVAL GUIDE AND UR READY FOR THE ZOMBIE OUTBREAK HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA",or "ONE TIME MY BOYFRIEND GOT US BOTH A COPY OF THAT ZOMBIE BOOK FOR CHRISTMAS AND SAID WE'LL BE PREPARED.
