+234 There's 3 kinds of "illegal" today. The kind you get sent to jail for, the kind you have to pay a fine for, and the kind you have to Google to find out if it's actually illegal. amirite?

Um, what? Do you have any idea how this stuff works? All jail time is not equal. Depending on your crime, you can be sent to any variety of prisons. A felony will result in you spending over a year in prison, whereas a misdemeanor will result in you spending under a year in prison. You can pay a fine without spending any jail time for a misdemeanor, or you can pay a fine without any risk of jail time for an infraction. A felony will mean you can't own a firearm and will be easily spotted on a record. You can still own a firearm after being charged with a misdemeanor, but only if that misdemeanor isn't domestic violence. Misdemeanors will show up on your record, but potential employers may not see them since they generally only check for felonies. Infractions will disappear off your record if you stay out of trouble for a few months. The legal system is not black and white by any means, and I don't even know what the "google" part is about.

If I had to google it I probably wouldn't be doing it at all.
